Generators and Loads Contribution Factors Based Congestion Management in Electricity Markets
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, a scheme based on generators and loads real and reactive power flow contribution factors has been presented for congestion management in pool based electricity markets. The system operator (SO) can identify the generators and loads based on these contribution factors for rescheduling their real and reactive power generation and loads to manage congestion. The real and reactive power bid curves for both generators and loads have been incorporated in the optimization model to determine congestion cost. The impact of Thyristor Controlled Phase Angle Regulator has also been determined on the congestion cost. The study has been carried out on IEEE 57 bus test system.

Congestion Management in Electricity Markets Using Demand Response Programs and Series FACTS Devices
In today’s restructured environment, congestion management plays an essential role in power system operation. Different methods are presented and discussed in this respect for congestion management in short-term and long-term intervals. It is attempted in the present paper to investigate the impact mechanism of FACTS devices and demand response programs together with generation re-dispatch as s...

Nowadays, congestion management is one of the major tasks accomplished by system operators to warrant the operation of transmission system within operating limits. This has resulted in unanticipated congestion interfaces in regional transmission systems. The system is, however, unable to evolve at a rate which is required to meet the quickly changing demand of competitive markets. To make the m...

متن کاملComparison of Sen Transformer and UPFC for congestion management in hybrid electricity markets
Congestion management (CM) is one of the most important and challenging tasks of the Independent System Operator (ISO) in the deregulated environment. Recently, Sen Transformer (ST) has emerged as an important power flow control device which has the capability of power flow control over a wide range like UPFC. This device with a conventional transformer and tap changers has the capability of bi...
